Christine Muthaka, known simply as Muthaka, is a Nairobi-based contemporary soul and indie-R&B singer-songwriter recognized for her heartfelt lyrics, warm vocals, and acoustic-driven live sets. She was named Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa at the 2022 AFRIMA awards. She began singing at age nine and trained at Nairobi's Sauti Academy, graduating in 2018. Drawing on influences like Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, and Ed Sheeran, she has developed a distinctive "Indie-Soul" sound. Her work includes the Off My Chest project and the Sunshine album with UMG Kenya, and she has performed at major regional events including Blankets and Wine.
